We would like to acquaint you with the history of Croatian War of Independence (1991-1995) which was a part of Yugoslavia break up. Dubrovnik became the front line of this war during so-called Siege of Dubrovnik which lasted over 7 months (October 1991-May 1992). During the fights nearly 200 Croatian soldiers were killed and nearly 100 civilians lost their lives. Hundreds of monuments and buildings were damaged during the bombardment of the Old Town.
