Split is second biggest city in Croatia and capital of Dalmatia County picturesquely situated on the shore of Adriatic Sea. As it an ancient city which history goes back to 6th century BC, its Old Town area has a lot to offer. Of course major attraction in our program will be walking around famous Diocletian Palace – summer residence of the Roman Emperor Diocletian. This luxurious Palace was built between 295 A.D. and 305 A.D and is included on UNESCO’s List of World Heritage as today it is one of the best examples of the late ancient architecture in the world. You will see Diocletian’s Palace Walls and Gates ( Golden, Iron and Brass Gate), Perystile, St. Domnius Cathedral, Temple of Jupiter, Substructure (cellars), Cardo and Decumanus street and the area outside the Palace. You will find there the Main square, the Remains of Benedectine monastery of St. Eufemia, the statue of Gregory of Nin, and much more. You will also have some free time in Split for your own exploration of the city, lunch, shopping or whatever else you like to do.
